Overview of PhD Project  

Marwa Elkhodairy's research involved quantitively and qualitatively studying British newspapers by comparing the differences between left-leaning and right-leaning newspapers in their representation of certain events in Egypt. She also investigated the impact of social media on their framing, narrative and argumentation strategies. My PhD was supervised by Dr Isabela Fairclough and Dr George Ogola. The study uses Corpus Linguistics and Critical Discourse Analysis to investigate the ideologies of newspapers.
