Healthy Ageing through the life-course is a transdisciplinary arena in which UCLan has identified strong potential for development. The pandemic has exposed the health related and social vulnerabilities of ageing societies. We see disparities in the experience of ageing related to inequalities, environment, social connections, access to care and both assistive and mainstream technologies. Meanwhile the age profile of the workforce is extending, and active older citizens are increasingly playing pivotal roles in supporting the civic infrastructure. This cluster shapes and progresses this work, focussing on the life course in relation to healthy ageing.
